Lovely painting, Pat. We don't see Cardinals here - they look very colourful little chappies.

Pat, those are so cute! We don't have cardinals here either. The first time I saw some in Texas, I was shocked. Somehow I'd gotten the impression they were large like blue jays. They aren't a great deal larger than a house sparrow.
Your take on the cardinals is really very good!

Very nice painting!  Here is a dumb question:

Do you leave the white area unpainted and paint the other stuff on top of it?  I really am going to start trying some of this soon...but it really amazes me how lovely you all paint and make it look so easy...as you post things so quickly!  Maybe I should start by doing some sketching first!!  lol

Bonnie,
I'm not that good!  Wink  I masked the white
places on the paper! Masking liquid here
is expensive! Almost $12.00 a small bottle!  Shocked

Millie....when you come back, our
cardinals ARE almost as large as
the bluejays! The ones down south
that stay there year round are smaller
in size than ours are.
( ours do fly south for the winter)
