WIP's usually start with a sheet of paper with an outline on them but this one's starting even before I've chosen the subject. I am so pleased with the Pen Line Drawing of the Water Mill that I'm keen to attempt another.

When I did my Knaresborough picture in pen it was very much in the category of 'sketch', and my Water Mill picture was much more precise and more of a 'drawing'. Now I fancy trying to combine the two and doing a city-scape.

I haven't chosen a scene to draw yet. I do have a photo of my town taken from the top of a multi-storey car park, and that may be the one. I hesitate because, apart from one or two predominate buildings in the centre, the rest of the picture would have little interest. As and when I've chosen the scene I'll post the reference photo here. In  the meantime, if any of you have possible views that might work, please post them and let's have a look.

I've got a couple of my home town of Whitehaven, plus one of Crail that I took some time ago, and they have been sitting in my 'to hard to do, but will one day' file.  Tried to send them without success.  Can I send one to you John, to have a look at?

Thank you both. Yes please Margaret and I'll post it for you.

Having looked out a few photo's of my own I'm beginning to think this may have been a silly idea so don't be surprised if it never gets off the ground.  Undecided

John, I know this isn't QUITE what you had in mind. But I couldn't resist posting this "cityscape". I took this about a mile over Denver, Colorado.

Here is one of my own I've found. Not an inspiring view but the best shot of my town that I have.

Lovely photo's Ingrid, thank you. I was really thinking more in terms of an entire urban landscape rather than just a building or two. That said, your shots are much nicer to look at than my drab rooftops.  Wink

Oh, you've posted a few more while I was typing that. Your Edingburgh.jpg is a definite contender.  Cheesy
