Good morning all and welcome back Millie. I am sure you will have loads of fun with your new 'puter and things will load much faster then with your old one.
Looks like we are still in summer mode even though it is now Autumn.
Right now at 8:45am it is 25C / 77F , but with the humidity so high (88%) it feels like 28C / 82F Roll Eyes

Goodness, I'd forgotten how many programs I have to load onto a new computer. And this one has Windows 7 on it which is very nice, except it doesn't like my old downloads much, and refuses to speak to my printer that is eight years old. How snooty can you get! I'll make it see the light though.
Beautiful the last two days, but snow and rain (yes rain) the next two days.
They had a horrible rock slide onto a long canyon portion of our Intertate highway system ( I-70 ) about a hundred miles West of us. It is a beautiful canyon drive with one side of the road hanging above the other. Quite a feat but now closed. If you care to read more about it, you may go to
http://www.denverpost.com/ci_14644221 It happened about midnight so no one on it at the time.
Otherwise, not a great deal of news. Gilbert is having a major retro fit (kidding) on his teeth. Just a great deal of dental work. And I finally had my upper GI test and they said all was well.  Cheesy, so to the doc to see what she has to say. We've been gone  some and trying to get things done besides this computer.  Angry
I may be missing a couple days again. Just too much to do off line!!!
You all take care.
Millie

Funny weather here at the moment, one day it's hot and humid, the next cold and dry! Today is sunny, cool and dry. Perfect for walking about and taking in the sights HK has to offer.

As some of you who have visited my blog will know, we're well into the 38th HK Arts Festival and Barbara and I are trying to relish as much as we can. Tomorrow we go to see Vladimir Ashkenazy and his two sons in a rare family appearance. And we've still got 4 weeks left!!

It's been a crazy week...just popped in to say hello and check up on how all of you are doing!  Weather here is cool (not warm enough for coats off, but put on lighter ones!) and rain.  The rain is melting the snow...hooray!

Will catch up better over the weekend...everyone take care!! Smiley

Hey there y'all - tiz I - the sensible one - returned to torment and titillate!!

I am never gonna catch up on this thread, so forgive me for being behind!! I been very preoccupied with 'stuff' over the past few months - that's why I have been AWOL.   But now I'm back, just starting to make art again in my newly postered studio, but not got anyfink to show just yet.  I'm seeing the world through different eyes.... and I think my art has changed becoz of this, I am finding it less spontaneous than it was, but maybe thats just old age a creepin up on me!

Anyway, here in the deep south the weather has been stupendously good - the spring sunshine has been fantastically inspiring - but its still really cold. Hey what about all these fires we're experiencing in Wales? Crazy or what!!!  The law seems to be blaming kids... reckons they're all chatting n plotting on the intraweb and setting fires as some kind of hoax... me? I reckons its  the Clangers aggravating the Soup Dragon!!

Nice to be back folks xxx

Hey everyone. Got a bunch of stuff done today. NOT. My balance problem finally caught up with me and I slept on and off since yesterday till awhile ago. it's a common and aggravating problem with Menieres disease. Thank goodness I have an understanding hubby!
Still have some problems to resolve with computer but it's going to be great as some point.  Evil
Here is a sunset I took from our front doorstep. There are many old trees in our neighborhood as you can see. also, by the time I ran and readied my camera, the sun was almost completely gone, leaving this beautiful sight.
Anyway, you all take care.
Millie

Good morning all .. it's a beautiful sunny day in Scotland. Still nippy, but that is super as it is keeping the snow on the hills. I have never seen the snow last for months on the hills as it has this year ... love it!

Hope you are all having a good weekend, and if you are blessed to still have your Mum please make her feel special, not just tomorrow, but everyday!!

Good Day everybody peeps!  Grin  Hey - is it to late to get up, eat a weetabix, get out the hoover and pretend it's morning?  *o*  lol Madly, nooooo lazily, I'm still in me bed!!!! Blokey has gone out to watch the footy (after bringing me my first breakfast in bed) so I'm here cuddling me laptop *O*, been reading most of the morning,  I love books - twas a great point of distress for me that after my head went ka-boom ka-BOOM, reading became more difficult.... i sometimes had to read stuff over and over becoz of the moemory problems... but I have discovered a great 'cure' for this - I'm re-reading stuff I have read several times all ready, kinda retraining the brain by reading stuff thats familiar so no effort to remember - lol - my brain is soooooo easy to trick! So, I'm currently re-reading the 'Miss Read' chronicles of village life and loving every blumming minute!!

Oh while on the subject of books would it be ok for me to plug a book by a local author? 'Never Say Die' by Melanie Davies.  Tiz the most honest book I have ever read.... about a young girl of 15 involved in a bike smash.... she breaks her back... so spends time in re-had hossy in Cardiff ( Rookwood) Her story is very moving, and will make you laugh, cry and at times feel you just can't read on, but do becoz you so wanna know how a person can be so brave and positive... more importantly, Melanie isn't going to make a penny out of her book, all of her proceeds are going toward building a center of excellence gym/keep fit/meeting place, for the disabled in Swansea.  Attached to Morriston hospital (the place where my busted brain was fixed) the center will provide a gym, a place to socialize and an Olympic sized, wheel chair acsesable swimming pool.  It will be open to all people with any level of disability.  And would be a huge bonus to wales where this kind of thing really dosen't exist..... *steps down off soap box and falls flat on back* Roll Eyes  Anyway if ya want a good read - and fany giving 6 quid to a very worthwhile charity....try this book - it's amazing!

Weather is wet n gloomy here so I'm tempted to stay in me pit all day... but NO - I gonna get some clothes on n go make some art! Now I've bored y'all stooopid!!  Missed you too Ian xxx

Hello friends, start of a new week. We had a lovely day yesterday. My Poodle puppy is getting into all kinds of mischief and keeping both of us on our toes. Will be another fine day today, but our luck will run out soon and we will be into Winter, and you all will have the beginning of your Spring. Take care. Nice to see you up and about Tracy, Ann.

Sea mist has closed in around us - 100 yards visibility - very eerie feeling looking out the window over our little bay and seeing nothing where normally the local ferries and fishing boats ply around the moored yachts. The last time I went to HK Island in a mist like this the ferry stopped half-way there and a few seconds later a container ship silently appeared from the fog and passed in front of us - about 50 yards away - bloody scary, excuse the French.

Anyway, mist permitting, tonight we go to see Steven Berkoff in "On the Waterfront" - hope he's as good as the last time I saw him in London many years ago.

Afternoon everybody peeps  Laugh  I'm a bit tired today, spent the day in Rehab... got up to 1.1 MPH on the treadmill - for almost 10 mins!! Thats my best yet... actually burnt off 29 calories too!!  Grin So now I'm celebrating by having a treat - some tasty Nut Cluster toffees  Grin They have now cut my sessions to one day a week (from 2) coz I have improved so much, which is great, but means I have toi be stricter with myself at home and carry on with the exercises they set without the supervision of the physiotoryuers!!

Ohhhh Ann - a puppy! I so want a lil dog - but blokey won't let me - so I have rats instead.  My mom has just had a puppy - but it's in bad books coz it ate me dads glasses!!

Sounds well spooky round your way Rob!  There was an installation art piece in the maritime museum, in Swansea, a couple of years ago that gave peeps the chance to experience that kind of mist. The room was very dimly lit and full of artificial mist.... the only sound to be heard was an occasional ship foghorn... which was so spooky coz of the sensory deprivation the rest of the room gave.    Hey rejoy ya gig... I aint been to one for ages now, last one was Metallica, Children of Bodem, and Machine head way back in February last year!!
