Thanks John  Cheesy ... let me know how you get on with it and I may yet give it a try. It will be interesting to see how this is in the morning.  At the moment the letters are dancing across the page chasing my fingers ... wonderful!!

Ok .. just tried the Task Manager again. Firefox is running anywhere up to 89!!

This page is all I have open.

Ingrid, open task manager again and click on the Networking tab and see how much activity there is, shouldn't be much at all.

hi Ingrid just seen this thread.have you tryed systems restore.
go to all programs click accessories click systems tools
click systems restart.
then pick adate befor your troubles started.
