Hi gang! It's snowing here and snowing the rest of the week!
It's in the 20's F, but on Christmas day it was sleet/rain, then
snow! The wind chill is & was below 0F! We went out for a
while yesterday, got groceries, scripts & bird food! My poor
birds are eating me out of house & home. We came home to
a surprise....a coopers hawk was sitting in the tree about 10
feet from the birdfeeders. I did get some pix, but will have to
upload them before I can post them.

Have a good day everyone!

it's definitely not snowing here in Sydney, Pat, we are getting ready to go over to the city to claim a space to watch the midnight fireworks.  Husband works in the dockyard so we get to go there for a grandstand view. Just got to get the ferry, walk to Woolloomooloo and join the very very long queue to get into the dockyard.  It's always an exciting time though and well worth the time to get there.

Hi all! Sounds as if all had a really good Christmas. (Ingrid, I typed in holiday and erased! It is such a habit! From being around so many people who aren't of the Christian faith.)
We had a great Christmas, with son David and of course daughter Diana from California. Son Steve in Florida called and everyone was able to talk to him for a long time. And a wonderful surprise. A friend from Beulah, Colorado was in town and came to see us. Our children grew up together but she hadn't seen them for about 30 years. David and Diana were very happy to see her also. Gilbert and I have known her for 50 years. Wonderful lady. Her third husband just died not long ago. All three husbands are now gone. She is always cheerful and laughing though.
And we did have a cold, white Christmas.
Happy New Year to everyone. I know it's the new year over there, but it's still 2009 here.
Gilbert and I and family wish you all the very best.

Millie, I am not offended at all by "Happy Holidays" I just wondered why it came to be at a very Christian time of year. As long as you had a good Christmas that is what matters to me ... sounds as if you did too!  Wink

I want to wish each of you a Happy New Year and all the very best for 2010.  I look forward to sharing the next year in the company of you all.

Again, this is the most popular thread in the forum and this year has generated 1250 posts. Due to the size of the thread I have again split it and moved all 2010 posts into a new thread. This one is accordingly locked.  Smiley

This thread was originally started by Pat in July 2007. Thanks Pat, and to everyone who has contributed since.  Wink
