A playful visitor

Yesterday I was working in my garden and, as is often the case, my friendly Robin came down to play. He's a complete tease. While I have a spade in my hand he's hopping under feet and getting in the way, but as soon as I put down the spade and pick up my camera, the ****** little brat skidaddles into the trees. The part of the garden I was working in is where my fathers Log Cabin stands and the Robin did seem quite interested in it. Anyway, Robin and I played cat and mouse all afternoon and although he got the better of me most of the time, I did manage to get a in a couple of shots. When I was clearing up my stuff at the end of the job, Robin perched high on a nearby treetop and chattered beautifully to me. He let me take one last photo and I like to think he was thanking me for a fun afternoon.

Fab shots John. I envy you having such a cute friend. Our Robins won't come too close because of the dreaded Missy cat.

Lovely photos John. I have a tame thrush here (loves sultanas) I wonder what he/she would think if I got the camera out

Great pictures, John.
Reminds me of a day I was in Brussels. I sat down in an outdoor cafe for a late morning drink and nibble. A cock sparrow was jumping about between tables pecking at crumbs etc and eventually landed on my table. He hopped across the table and rested on my finger. everyone at the other cafe tables suddenly went quiet as the little fellow just hung on tightly to my forefinger. He sat there for a full two minutes or so, looking around at everyone - king of the cafe, so to speak. Then flew away from us all. There was a little round of applause - I couldn't figure out if it was for the bird or me - anyway, we were all smiling for the rest of the day!

Nice story Rob.
John, those are darling photos. I can't think which I like the best. Your robins are so very cute. Ours are - robins. fiesty and even mean and fairly large! But pretty with their red breasts.
