Ingrid J Ormestad
Ingrid Ormestad is of Norwegian ancestry but is Scottish by birth. She is passionate about the hills and mountains of Scotland and spends a lot of her time soaking up the atmosphere of the hills in her vicinity.
A late starter, Ingrid has only been painting for a few years. It was a dream she held for a very long time, but it was only when she received a gift of art materials from her husband that she finally dipped her toe in the water. Since then she has tried several media but favours Watercolour and Acrylic. She is most at home painting the mountains of Scotland in Watercolour and her earthy style brings out the best from this rugged landscape.
The paintings on display suitably depict the journey Ingrid has been on with her art, from one of her first serious paintings, “Seascape” (watercolour), through to her most recent abstract, “Middle of Nowhere” (acrylic). “Moel Sych” and “Mountain Forest” show her love of the wild landscape and “Winter” is an atmospheric ‘doodle’ in monochrome. Ingrid is also passionate about Trees and has a number of tree studies in her portfolio, “Bleeding Tree” being one example.
Ingrid spends much time online helping to run the art forum and she is very enthusiastic about encouraging others to have-a-go.
